Learn How to Run a Successful Detailing Business

You can’t just be a detailer if you want to run a successful business. Detailing as a Business is an in-depth training program that shows you the ins-and-outs of running a detailing business.

Got a question about the course? Send us a text to 346-217-4394. Talk soon!

Here's the truth...

Most of us start a detailing business because it’s a passion or hobby.

And if you can get paid doing something you enjoy, why not do it, huh?

Unfortunately, if you’re only focused on the detailing part of things, you won’t get very far with your business.

There’s a lot of other things you have to focus on in order to get customers, make money, and grow.

Most people think running a detailing business is primarily about the tools, product and methods.

It’s not.

Spending hours researching the best tire cleaner, pressure washer and “testing” your methods is not going to get you closer to making more money.

If you focus on being a better detailer, you only become a better detailer.

And you can be the greatest detailer in your city, but that doesn’t mean you’ll get people to call and book with you.

You need to think about yourself as an owner of a business, not just a detailer who cleans cars.

You need to learn about how to attract the right type of customers, how to sell your services, how to communicate with customers, and many other things that have nothing to do with detailing.

Don’t get me wrong, you have to produce amazing results for your customers in order to stay in business. But that’s only a small part of running your business.

Here’s a few distinct differences between a business owner mindset and a detailers mindset:

👍🏽 Business owner mindset

  • Sets specific goals to achieve by a certain deadline
  • Obsesses with creating an amazing customer experience
  • Continually expands their knowledge on detailing, operations, and marketing
  • Focuses on marketing to generate more leads and sales

👎🏽 Detailers only mindset

  • Focuses on improving their detailing skills
  • Spends time in detailing Facebook groups or forums
  • Watches other detailers on YouTube or Instagram
  • Chases perfection without getting getting paid for that level of work

But don't let that stop you...

People love to plan and analyze before they get started, but here’s a big surprise… you’ll never be fully ready to start your business.

Never.

You can always make the excuse to wait on that one next thing before you finally start.

We all go through this problem.

You wan to get all the tools and products first. You want to get trained first. You want to get your logo and business cards first.

It’s a never-ending cycle of needing one more thing to start.

Here’s what you need to do (and it’s exactly what I did):

Start with what you have right now, and overtime, you’ll gain more confidence and experience.

Where you are right now is not where you’ll be 9 months from now.

What's happens when you start thinking like a business owner?

When you kick the detailer mindset to the curb and start thinking like a business owner, you’ll gain clarity on what you need to do to to grow to the next level.

The detailer is focused on the latest tools and products but the business owner focuses on maximizing potential with what they have.

The detailer constantly practices to improve their skills but the business owner focuses on generating more leads and sales.

The detailer talks with other detailers about detailing… the business owner focuses on developing new strategies and tactics to keep pushing their business forward.

This is what a lot of us detailers go through.

We’re so stuck on just focusing on detailing that we forget about everything else that comes with running a successful business.

Oscar - Detail Groove

Hi! I'm Oscar 🙋🏽‍♂️

My name is Oscar and I’ve been teaching people how to start and grow a detailing business since 2015.

I started my business back in 2011 and have made every mistake you can think of. From struggling to get customers, under pricing my services, to hiring employees and growing passed $10,000 per month.

This course, Detailing as a Business, is what I wish I had when I started my business. It would have saved me a ton of headaches.

If you’r ready to take control of your business, then read on…

Detailing as a Business gives you the training and resources to go from a hobbyist detailer to a detailing business owner.

By the end of this program, you will have:

  • Nailed down your pricing to start offering your services to customers
  • Finalized your list of services you’ll offer based on your current products and skills
  • Created your business goals and what you want to achieve in the next 12 months
  • Made a list of tool and products you need that fit your budget
  • Implemented marketing strategies to book paying customers in your calendar
  • And so much more…

Most importantly, you’ll have a better understanding of the action steps you need to take in order to run and grow your business.

Because one thing that will never stop is the need to solve more problems.

As you get more customers and grow your business, you’ll only get more and more problems.

This can be things like dealing with customers, hiring employees, or managing your schedule.

With Detailing as a Business, you get the necessary resources to make the best decision to keep moving forward.

Here's what's inside 👀

Inside the course, you’ll find 16+ hours of video content where I breakdown very specific topics. These are lessons I’ve learned over the passed 10 years from running a mobile van and a shop with multiple employees.

Below, you’ll find a snippet of the modules and lessons found inside the course. It goes very in-depth across many topics about running a detailing business.

(I’m currently updating and adding a lot of content. Much more to come over the next few months!)

Setup and go

In this module, we’ll set your baseline for the services you’ll offer, what’s included in each one, at what price point you’ll offer them, and the goals you’d like to achieve. This is a fundamental part to creating the type of business you want. You’ll learn:

  • How to create your services and packages
  • What to include in each of those offerings
  • What you should price those services and packages
  • How to set your business goals
  • When to discount your services
  • The key part to the services you offer

Communicating with your customers

Whether you talk to the customer in person, over the phone, or through email, you have to clearly articulate your benefits and value. This module covers how to communicate with your customers based on their wants and needs through different forms of media. You’ll learn:

  • How to impress the customer over the phone
  • The simple mistake you’re doing that’s costing you customers
  • Why you need to articulate your value in the shortest manner possible
  • What you need to do if you miss a phone call
  • An easy thing you can do to get customers to text you

You should always maximize your calendar for revenue, but depending if you’re mobile, shop-based, or both, and if you have multiple employees or vans, this can get a bit complicated. We’ll cover how to add more vehicles per day, how to manage shop and mobile jobs, and how to confirm or reschedule appointments. You’ll learn:

  • Multiple methods to confirm customers will show up to their appointments

  • What to do if a customer needs to reschedule their appointment
  • How to manage vehicle drop-offs and pickups at your shop
  • How to manage walk-ins at your shop and the exact form to use to book them in

Get paying customers

It’s not a business without paying customers. Here you’ll learn a variety of methods to gain customers, form grass root methods to spending money on Google Ad campaigns to book in more customers. Whether you’re just getting started or you’re ready to take the next step in growth, this module has you covered. You’ll learn:

Trust me, I give a FAQ!

Will this program work if I’m doing this part-time?

YES. It really doesn’t matter if you’re doing this part-time or full-time. A business is a business. You still need to get customers, price your services, book customers, and everything else. The fundamentals stay the same.

I’m not confident in my detailing skills. Should I get trained first before offering services?

Do you need to be a master detailer before you can offer any services? Absolutely not. You don’t need to know how to do a deep interior cleaning or 2-step paint correction. You start with what you can and overtime, get better and offer more services.

Do I need to be tech-savvy in order to make this work?

You need to have basic computer and phone skills. There’s no sophisticated level of coding or special computer skills you need. As long as you can use a keyboard and mouse, you’re qualified 🙂

What can I expect once I enroll in Detailing as a Business?

Once you enroll, you’ll get an email to login to your account. You’ll have access to all the modules, videos, and resources. The 90-days of coaching also starts immediately. So you can start sending in your questions for help!

This sounds like a lot of work. Are you sure I can do this?

Building a business, part-time or full-time, takes a lot of work. The great thing is you build your business the way you want to.

If you only want to do this on the weekend, you can do that. If you want to go all-out, that’s your choice. So even though it is a lot of work, you’re always in control of how far you’d like to take it.

How does the guarantee work?

You’ll get a full-refund within 14-days of your purchase if you give it an honest effort. You get access to all the content within the course when you enroll. Nothing is dripped out or held back from you.

If you actually watch the lessons, take action on the strategies, ask me for help when needed, you’ll get results and make progress in your business. If you don’t login, you don’t watch any lessons, you don’t reach out to me, then of course you’re not going to make any progress or see results

You want to be more than just a detailer - you want to be a detailing business owner

Detailing cars is fun, but to run a successful business is entirely different… and it’s important you make that switch as early as you can in your journey.

You’re no longer just focus on cleaning a car. You’re responsible for many other things like…

  • Marketing your business so people find you.
  • Converting leads into customers and booking them into your calendar.
  • Keeping tracking of inventory and ordering supplies.
  • Confirming customers appointments and keep tracking of your schedule.
  • Ensuring the customer is happy and satisfied with the results.
  • Hiring an employee to help you manage the business.
  • And so much more!

It can get overwhelming but it’s crucial to your success. That’s why I created Detailing as a Business. This takes you behind the scenes of what you need to do to make sure you’re moving your business in the right direction.

I’ve made every mistake in the book.

And with this course and the coaching that comes with it, I hope to help you avoid most of them so you can get on the fast track to success.

But remember..

You still have to put in the work to make it work

No matter what training you take, whether it’s online or in person, or what instructor you have, if you don’t commit to putting in the work day in and day out, it’s not going to work.

Building a business takes a lot of time and energy. You have to get complete strangers to know who you are, communicate your value and services, and book them into your calendar.

When people ask me, “How much can I make with detailing?”, it’s almost impossible to answer that question.

Because it depends on your level of commitment.

What do you want to get out of it? How much time and energy do you want to put into it? What are your goals over the next 3 years?

This all comes down to you.

If you decide to join the course, I’ll do my best to help you along your journey.

Watch the lesson, take action, and when you need help, you can reach out to me via email and ask your question!

This is why I created this course. So you can get help from someone that’s been through it as well.
